Slovakia: Blatnica Castle - information

A description of Blatnica Castle
This photo was taken in October 1998

The description reads:

First recorded as the property of Peter of Brezovice around 1300,
from 1342 owned by Peter Donc', son of Count Nicholas. Later,
Blatnica was declared royal property. Sold by the king in 1445 to Ladislav Necpalský. From 1539 until 1945 the Castle was owned by the Révai family
but after 1790 no more inhabited.
Slav burial stites are located in the vicinity of the castle, with a special Blatnica
